The Beginnings of the Steiner Swimming School
In 1980, the Steiner Swimming School began operating in the “broom closet” of the Vienna Stadthallenbad . Although the space was very modest—only 8 m² including the office—Mrs. Steiner Senior and her daughter Andrea Steiner used it efficiently and with great dedication.
During the 1990s, the company continued to grow and moved—now expanded to 16 m²—into its first street-level shop on Vogelweidplatz. With the new location, not only did the sales area increase, but the team grew as well: more and more family members and employees shaped its development. Peter Steiner, son of multiple national champion Andrea Steiner and himself a successful swimmer, also joined the family business.

Over time, the Steiner Swimming School has grown steadily—not only in Vienna but also in meeting the expectations of our customers. To live up to these demands, we have continuously expanded our course offerings. Today, we provide swimming lessons in numerous pools across Vienna. Every year, more than 4,000 participants of all ages learn to swim safely and with joy with us.

From practical swimming aids for children and stylish swimwear for your next vacation to high-quality competition suits—you’re guaranteed to find what you’re looking for.
